Mini pot of gold- decorations

I have had several of these mini pots that I use for St. Patrick's Day decorations.  I was thinking that they were kind of boring and then my mom gave me this idea.  So now they look like little pots of gold.  I love it!!

What you need:
    little rocks
    gold paint/spray paint
    hot glue gun
    paper towel
    mini black pot

After you have collected your rocks, wash and dry them.  Then paint them gold, to look like little gold nuggets.  Next, take your pot and fill with paper towel.  This way you are not filling the whole pot with rocks, just the top layer.  Now, add some hot glue and rocks.  Voila!!

Pot of goodies at the end of the rainbow

Our leprechauns' left us a pot of goodies at the end of the rainbow.   In the pot were candies, pens, notebook and stickers.  Everything was either green or gold.  Scattered next to the pot were gold coins and rolo candies.  To make the rainbow I used clear packing tape, stuck to the wall, and then I twisted crate paper and stuck it to the tape.  For the clouds I bunched up some paper towels and stuck them to the tape also.  Easy to make and very fun.

Unfortunately, we were unable to catch a leprechaun, even with our clever trap. I found the idea for the trap here.  My daughter loved making this with me.  It was a lot of fun to see my 4 year old's reaction to all of this the morning of St. Patrick's Day.  It definitely made it worth all of the effort I put into this holiday.

My last minute project was to make these t-shirts for my girls.  I think that they turned out pretty cute and I love that it only cost me a couple of bucks to buy the green fabric.  I just used white shirts that we already had and then just cut out clovers from the green fabric and stitched them on.  Super easy to do, I think I am going to make them shirts for Easter. :)

St. Patrick's Day

Last year I didn't do anything for St. Patrick's day and I felt pretty bad for my little family.  This year I was determined to do something and make it fun.  I decided to make little leprechauns, with my cricut machine, who would come out each morning.  One a day until the 17th.  My 4 year old has just loved this! She wakes up every morning so excited to  see where the next one will pop up.  If you didn't want to do leprechauns you could do 4-leaf cloves or green footprints, as signs that a leprechaun had visited your house.

On the 17th I have made a little bit bigger leprechaun to go under a rainbow with a pot of gold.  I plan to fill the pot with little items that I picked up from the party store.  (For the pot I am going to use my witches pot from my Halloween decorations, as St. Patrick's Day decorations are a little sparse in the stores.
